This is the most common upgrade for racing. Most 50cc 2 stroke and 4 stroke scooters dont have sufficient power for US roads and require an upgraded cylinder. We also offer upgrades for scooters from 50 to 70, 50 to 100, 125 to 155, 150 to 170, 170 to 200, 250 to 280 and in the future many many more.

The two-stroke cycle of an internal combustion engine differs from the more common four-stroke cycle by having only two strokes (linear movements of the piston) instead of four, although the same four operations (intake, compression, power, exhaust) still occur. Thus, there is a power stroke per piston for every engine revolution, instead of every second revolution.

Cylinder kits are available in several formats, basically cast-iron with or without cylinder heads, road aluminum with cylinder head and race aluminum with cylinder head. Aluminum is always going to be the best for heat dissipation and features a nicasil plating.

The major components of two-stroke engines are tuned so that optimum airflow results. Intake and exhaust pipes are tuned so that resonances in airflow give better flow. The four stroke engine/cylinder is characterized by four strokes, or straight movements in a single direction, of a piston inside a cylinder:

Cast iron is still popular mainly due to the materials lower cost. Cast iron naturally takes longer to get to its operating temperature so there is always the issue of the piston expanding faster than the cylinder resulting in what is called a cold seize. As with any engine proper warm up is necessary for long life.

Both Two stroke and Four stroke Buggies, ATVs, Scooters, and Go Karts can be upgraded using our cylinders. We offer cylinders from Italkit, Polini, Malossi, CB, WY, and many more....

We suggest that all Performance Parts be “matched” so dont use Polini pistons with a Malossi cylinder or vice versa. Also, buying a cylinder might require buying a new exhaust parts are as they are and if they have a different flange and require you to change the exhaust it is not our fault or the parts fault. Its the requirement of the upgrade.
