“Gear Set” is simply a set of gears, but here at ICR our "Gear Set" means bigger and better. The final drive of the transmission is controlled by gears so why not use the best gears available? Our upgraded gear sets allow for extra power output. How does this work? These are the input gear which is fixed to the clutch bell, the output gear which is fixed to the rear wheel and a reduction gear or orientation gear. In some instances there might be more gears in the final drive, but this is not very common. By changing the relation between these gears you gain torque or speed, but not both. So depending on which factor you wish to increase we reccomend changing the "Gear Set" and adjusting for torque or speed.

To raise the overall gearing there are several types of gear kits available with different numbers of teeth to suit various models. The best option is to use the gear kit recommended by the kit manufacturer and obtain a matched balance between power and gearing. If the gearing selected is too high then initial off the line or overall performance suffers noticeably. MRP, MALOSSI, TECNOMOTO, CB RACING and POLINI offer many primary and secondary gear kits which you will find in this section.
